The relationships we have with food and our bodies are foundational.

They sprout from our family of origin, are fertilized by culture and media, then intricately weave through every aspect of our lives. From the way we show up in our friendships to the way we connect in intimate partnerships, even how we parent and show up professionally.

Difficult relationships with food and our bodies can create chaos in our lives while masking and distracting from the root cause of our struggle. That’s why even the healthiest, most abundant, nutrient rich diets can feel impossible to stick to.

Struggles with food and hating our bodies creates an internal war that robs us of so much energy, our precious life force. Imagine what you could create on the canvas of your life if you had that energy back where it belongs. We are all born with innate gifts and Spirit that light up our lives. We do this work to liberate our gifts, our Spirit, our Selves, our inner light.

Anything that clouds our inner light is worthy of skillful attention and steady support to find, connect to, heal, and bring home the Parts of us trapped in loops of struggle.

We live in a culture that is purposefully designed to destroy our foundational relationships with food and our bodies. Most of the economy is dependent on unbalanced consumption, all for the sake of corporate profits at our expense. It makes sense to struggle and second guess ourselves under these conditions.

Letting go of diet culture and prioritizing your physical and mental health means swimming upstream, against the current of society and, likely, against the culture of our own families and dear friends. It makes sense to need and want more support.

1:1 sessions with Lily provide that support and offer gentle, respectful, clear guidance to thoroughly and safely uncover the inner dynamics beneath these harmful patterns with food and body.

Anatomy of a Coaching Session

Signing up for 1:1 coaching and opening yourself up to another person is a step into the unknown, and thus an act of courage and trust. It helps put my Parts at ease to have a “map” of what a “typical” coaching session can look like. Yours will, of course, be unique to you, but here’s a basic framework of what you can expect from your session. 

  • Ideally, your inner work will begin before our scheduled time together. Sessions are supercharged when you spend some time beforehand reflecting on what’s happening in your system and what you’d like to focus on: a recent event, resistance, big emotions, bodily sensations, etc.
  • Once our session begins, we’ll have a luxurious 90-minutes together. This ensures there’s plenty of time for you to be fully immersed  in this transformative inner exploration. 
  • As we start, there’s time for a brief check in to catch up on any news or life events that feel important. I’ll ask about how the Membership workshops, tools, and practices have been impacting your system.
  • Often, these sharings are trailheads into your inner work. Once we’ve settled on a direction of exploration, we’ll spend a few minutes opening our intentional space and cultivating a connection with your core essential Self.
  • As we turn inward and explore your area of focus, we’ll notice which Parts are active and ready for support.
  • You’ll choose (usually) 1 or 2 Parts to work with more deeply. We start with them and let the session unfold from there. This is the bulk of our time together, and we spend it creating connection, building trust, providing nurturance, and – once your Parts feel safe & connected enough – helping them to let go of their burdens, heal the damage done, and return home to you.
  • With 90-minute sessions, you’ll often start to feel the natural conclusion of your healing cycle as your system intuitively shifts into a less-active, “subconscious” integration process.  As our time together ends, you’ll work with your Parts to ensure they feel safe, connected, and nourished. 
  • We close our intentional space and support your nervous system so that it can effectively  transition from your deep inner focus back to your day-to-day life.
  • We’ll create a plan for you to safely check on and nurture the Parts we’ve worked with; you’ll do this every day for the next week (at least). This checkin process is extremely important for any Parts Work, DIY or 1:1 Coaching.
  • I highly recommend Journaling immediately after your session, even if for one minute to briefly jot down key words. This will greatly enhance your memory of your session, which can sometimes fade away like a dream.
